ABOUT THE COMPANY
Suttle Dance Company was founded in early 2013 by Artistic Director Sylvia Suttle. Suttle Dance is a non-profit organization and a Modern based company in the metro Detroit area. Striving to share their love for dance, creation, and push boundaries, Suttle Dance performs all over the Detroit area and enjoys collaborating with other artists. Suttle Dance has performed at Henry Ford College, Sidewalk Festival, Dally in the Alley, Dance at Detroit Institute of Arts in Detroit, NewDANCEFest with Eisenhower Choreography Showcase, Regeneration, Assemble and Women’s Work with Kristi Faulkner Dance, The Scarab Club in Detroit, 2015-2016 Best of 17th Detroit Dance Race, and at Artlabj Festivals/Detroit Dance Races/Detroit Dance City Festival. Suttle Dance recently traveled to Philadelphia to perform at Koresh Showcase Series, Going Dutch in Chicago, and have performed with Detroit Symphony Orchestra at Orchestra Hall for DSO NextGen. Their first Showcase “Limited Lines” premiered in 2019 followed by their second showcase in 2020 "Unspoken" to sold out audiences.
Suttle Dance’s mission is to reach the community through creating a unique experience which evokes emotion and inspires a reaction within one's perspective. Valuing artistic collaboration it’s Suttle Dance mission to build lasting relationships and strengthen the artistic Detroit community through our work.
